THE CITY - NEW UNIT
First we went on the train until we were close to Baixa, the trip was lovely and the view was, most of the times, nice to watch. We arrived at 09:09 and the minute we jumped out of the train we started taking pictures to all the things we could think of.
As we walk through the city, movement, contrast and busy lives made all of the photos of the day, beginning in every person who rushed through us on their cell phones, through the nice ancient ladies who wouldn’t mind talking with us all afternoon, and ending on homeless people who were nice enough to take some photos with us.
The main difference/contrast was, probably, the lifestyles living on those streets. Some people just pass by to get to work, others are visiting, many others don’t have no other place to sleep, and m
any of them, close to Mouraria live there all their life.In side of those differences we can also see contrast on behavior. As we were taking pictures and talking to strangers, some of them were a little bit nicer and gave us a little of their time to talk with us and know their stories, most of them were ancient and local people. I guess tourists and workers don’t want to waste their time, because they were not the nicest people, ignoring us.
It was a really nice trip that revealed a lot about a city that, now, seems more that just a town. I think that only after being a tourist in your city, you can actually call it, your city.

A Review - Book in English
The title of the book is "Unfinished Portrait" and ias a book in English that I've been reading for a while. The book is about a painter of portraits that meets a girl, Celia. Celia ia a woman that is almost comitting suicide and the painter convinves her into to doing her portrait not in colors as we thought but in writting. He starts talking of her childhood that's wuite interesting, how she was a religious girl when a child and the rest of her life. The book is a great book but it's not to learn English, well, in some ways is, when it's used different words to say something like they say "fond" to say they like something or "ought to" to say should or even "gay" to say happy, but that's not the common English, the words are always... old. However I am really fond of this book. The story is amazing.
The Debate
The news Report
We had to do a Script for a news report that we had made up by ourselves. My group chose a bank robbery and we at first tried doing on film and we have everything filmed but we had some problems editing the film. So we perform our little show on class and it went well. At first I was a little nervous but I kept my calm and we did the little play correctly. I think we all learned a lot because we had to do it several times on film so we have really learned how to do a news report. You can check it here

The Review

The title of the book is “Ten Little Niggers” and it was released in the 20th century by the writer who sold the most books in that century, Agatha Christie.
It starts with the arrival of the characters, who were all invited to an island. They were all, supposedly, invited by their friends, so when they see all of those people, they were eight plus the maid and her husband, they stay really surprised. They sit all together and the maid's husband puts a gramophone to play, as his boss told him to by letter. The gramophone starts to
shout accusations to everybody including the maid and her husband. The accusations explain that as the law couldn't punish them for their crimes, he would. As the time goes by the persons are killed and one by one the black figures that were on the dinner table are found broken. At the end they all die but the killer leaves a suicide note explaining how he did it and why.
The story is really fascinating for the people who enjoy good detective books. Also the geniality that Agatha Christie transpires on her books is so present in this one that you may be stunned in the end. You should definitely read it!
I can't live whithout...

I can't live without her. Yeah it's true, she's my best friend and I couldn't live without her. She is the nicest and the sweetest person I know. She backs me up in everything and even when we fight I know I can count on her. Even though we aren't in the same class anymore I still care about her a lot and we still see each other. It's one of those friendships that you just know that should not end, and even if we had our discussions we always knew that we were going to end up friends. I know that she thinks that I don't care about her like I used to, but she is so wrong. She is the best friend I could ever have had.
If I were...

If I were a river I would move quietly and support water to a whole region. I would rush in to the sea and carry with me the animals in me. I would touch every tree or sand I ever wanted. I would not have any preoccupations and life would be awesome. I would be free to go anywhere I wanted and with anyone. It would be so much funniest that normal and boring life… But I guess not everyone can be a river right?
MY SHORT STORY
Some day a kid, let’s call him Michael, woke up and went to his small window, as he did every day, and saw snow. It was snowing! What a strange feeling that he was seeing snow! He went quickly as possible post a new entry in his blog until every kid on the Empire knew. You see, it had not snowed since 2154. It was a big event around there. For some, it was the first time they saw snow, for others it brought memories of good old times. Rita was one of that last ones.
She had vague memories of when she went to play with snow on the streets she was 4 years old. Now, she didn’t know anything that weren’t inside of those walls of plasma that her parents called home. The only things she knew was because of telebooks but she knew it was not the same.
Some days she would feel very sad, and not even her flying shoes would make her smile and that was one of those days. At some point she couldn’t take it anymore. She stood up, opened the door and put one barefoot on the snow. Oh, white, cold, soft snow. How I missed you, she thought. So she put the other foot outside and suddenly all the kids, which were watching the snow at their windows, left home and started to play which each other. Above their heads, the same spaceships that will be above their heads 5 days after, were flying. Spaceships that they had never seen. But who cares about spaceships when you can play with snow^? And that is why Cornelius, watching that with tremulous joy, took the “kids-can’t-play-on-the-streets” law out of the law book.
